New Orleans' Clark H.S. Extreme Classroom Makeover supported by Cardinal Point South Furnishings and Interiors.
/Louisiana News Articles/ - NEW ORLEANS, LA, May 23, 2008 - In a ceremony Tuesday, the Bridging the Gap Classroom Makeover groundbreaking ceremony at Clark High School was attended by Cardinal Point South President Mandi Thompson. Cardinal Point South, a full service furnishings and interior provider, to supply furnishings for classroom redesign.
In conjunction with organizations such as the United Teachers of New Orleans, the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems Charitable Foundation, student designers from Delgado Community College, ACORN, Lowe's, Home Depot, Exxon-Mobil, the Green Project and many others, Cardinal Point South and its sister non-profit Furnishing Our Neighbors plan to assist in the development of a superior learning environment.
The objective of the Bridging the Gap program sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers is to provide a high-quality makeover for this special needs classroom, which will entail redesigning the space with the help of a professional designer, physical remodeling as necessary, installation of cabinetry and shelving, repainting and other improvements that may be possible given budget considerations.
"We are delighted to be involved in such a meaningful project," said Cardinal Point South president Mandi Thompson, " the future of education in New Orleans is dependent upon more than just the quality of the educators - environment and aesthetics play a key role.
